IPC Global Poultry Outlook in the current geopolitical climate

Global poultry outlook in today's geopolitical climate

In today’s geopolitical climate, food security has become a central global priority.

📈Trade disruptions, economic uncertainty, animal health challenges, and regional conflicts are putting increasing pressure on food systems and supply chains worldwide. At the same time, demand for affordable, high-quality protein continues to grow.
This is where poultry plays a critical role.

🍗Poultry is one of the most efficient and accessible sources of animal protein, contributing to stable and resilient food systems across developed and developing economies alike. Its short production cycle, adaptability, and affordability make it uniquely positioned to help countries respond to uncertainty and ensure reliable access to nutritious food. But resilience cannot be built in isolation.

As IPC President Richard Griffiths notes, the question is no longer how we bounce back, but how we build forward, strengthening cooperation, supporting science-based policy, and building trusted global supply chains that keep protein affordable and accessible international cooperation, science-based policies, and open trade remain essential to maintaining stable supply chains and supporting global food security.

The global poultry sector is committed to working together with partners and policymakers to help build food systems that are more resilient, more sustainable, and better prepared for the challenges ahead.
