Tage Lysgaard (European Union) and Jim Sumner (United States) launch IPC in Cologne, Germany, with Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, Mexico, Thailand and Turkey. Jim Sumner is elected President.
2008
IPC signs an agreement with the World Health Organisation for Animal Health.
2009
IPC is granted Observer status with the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
2010
IPC signs its first Memorandum of Agreement with the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
2012
IPC joins the FAO’s Livestock Environmental Assessment & Performance Project (LEAP).
2014
IPC joins the Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL).
2015
IPC signs its second Memorandum of Agreement with the FAO.
2017
IPC adopts and publishes its Antimicrobial Stewardship Principles.
2018
IPC renews its second MoU with the FAO.
2019
Jim Sumner steps down and Robin Horel (Canada) is elected President.
IPC signs the IPC-FAO Declaration of Sao Paulo on Sustainability in the Poultry Industry.
2020
IPC publishes a series of positions and guidance on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Adriaan Weststrate is recognized as Poultry Person of the World.
2021
The TRANSFORM initiative is launched in partnership with Cargill and Heifer International.
IPC takes part in the UN Food Systems Summit in partnership with other livestock associations.
2022
IPC launches its new Global Data Platform and publishes the first Macroeconomic Indicators report on the global poultry industry.
2023
IPC contributes to the World Organisation for Animal Health’s General Session and inaugural Animal Health Forum.
IPC joins the WOAH Observatory to study compartmentalization in avian influenza.
IPC joins the Quadrapartite AMR multi-stakeholders partnership platform.
2024
Ricardo Santin is elected President.
2025
IPC celebrates 20 years of existence at its Annual Meeting in Casablanca, Morocco.
