WOAH 92nd General Session

WOAH 92nd general session

Dr. Emmanuelle Soubeyran kicked off the 92nd General Session of the World Organisation for Animal Health in Paris with the following three inspiring statements.

“It Is here that every year standards, status, key decision and resolutions that shape our collective actions are adopted”
“Better animal health means improved food security, stronger economies, fairer and safer trade, enhanced public health, better protection of wildlife and biodiversity and mitigation of climate change effects”
“The cost of inaction is much higher than the cost of prevention”

IPC is proud to represent in such a relevant and high level meeting the global poultry meat sector and its commitment to protect animal health while contributing to global and sustainable food security.

Our sector commends Emmanuelle Soubeyran and World Organisation for Animal Health for their tireless and strong leadership.

Excellent discussion and insights during the Animal Health Forum on vaccines and vaccinations. Availability, access, demand, strategies and impact on trade are key challenges that need a multi-stakeholders approach, along with in depth knowledge sharing on biosecurity, zoning and compartmentalization and strengthening of veterinary services worldwide.

Kudos to Marie B. and Merck Animal Health for the enlightening panel discussion on “Women in Animal Health: Catalysts for Innovation and Access”. Good job!

At the end of the day, productive confrontation and exchange of perspectives on animal transport at the side event on “Transport of animals shared responsibilities”.
